As a training provider, The Merseyside Academy of Hypnotherapists (MAH) has a responsibility to produce competent and effective therapists; therefore, the course has been designed in accordance with The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council’s regulatory guidelines for training. To meet growing Government interest in the minimum training criteria for hypnotherapy, the GHSC’s guidelines for foundation level courses include:
Admissions Criteria
As the course is designed as an introduction to hypnotherapy, there are no formal admissions criteria; however, the selection process will take into consideration the prospective student’s awareness of the importance of life experience. In addition, students are expected to take a responsible, moral, ethical and professional approach throughout.

Course Duration – 10 weeks

Classroom Tuition
In compliance with regulatory guidelines for hypnotherapy, face-to-face tuition will consist of 10 x 3 hour sessions to be held one evening a week (6.00 – 9.00pm), plus one weekend. Total hours = 50.
Continual Assessment
Assessment will be made via submission of written and verbal assignments; these consist of two question papers, and a classroom demonstration.
Course Materials
In addition to a required reading list (see below), handouts, audio CD’s and DVD’s will be provided. The handouts will gradually compile a comprehensive manual / portfolio of the course contents.

Course Cost - £295.00
Payment method 1 – Full payment before the course commencement date. This method
is rewarded with a 5% discount; therefore cost = £280.00
Payment method 2 - £115.00 deposit (payable before the course commencement date), followed by 2 x monthly installments of £90.00. Note: no penalty (i.e. interest) is
incurred for this method of payment.

Accreditation, Qualification and Graduation.
The Foundation Course in Clinical Hypnotherapy offered by The Merseyside Academy of Hypnotherapy has been assessed and validated by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK). For the maintenance of good practice, promotion of unity, and the encouragement of continual development within the profession of hypnotherapy, it is recommended that practitioners adhere to the code of ethics outlined by the General Hypnotherapy Register (see website link below).

In addition to the information outlined above, completion of the foundation course will mean that graduates have accumulated ten modules towards the Practitioner level Diploma Course, leaving only twelve modules to complete before attaining pratitioner level status. On attaining the Diploma, the student will be entitled to use the letters Dip. (ClnHyp) after their name. Endowed with an eclectic mix of psychological knowledge, the graduate will be able to take an integrative and versatile approach to the treatment of a wide range of disorders; these include:
