As a training provider, The Merseyside Academy of Hypnotherapists (MAH) has a responsibility to produce competent and effective therapists; therefore, the course has been designed in accordance with The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council’s regulatory guidelines for training. To meet growing Government interest in the minimum training criteria for hypnotherapy, the GHSC’s guidelines include:
Admissions Criteria
There are no formal admissions criteria for the course as comprehensive training will be given; however, the selection process will take into consideration the prospective student’s awareness of the importance of life experience. In addition, students are expected to take a responsible, moral, ethical and professional approach throughout.

Course Duration – 1 year.

Classroom Tuition
In compliance with regulatory guidelines for hypnotherapy, face-to-face tuition will consist of 30 x 3 hour sessions to be held one evening a week (6.30 – 9.30pm), plus two weekends (each consisting 15 hours of practical work). Total hours = 120.
Continual Assessment
On-going assessment will be made via submission of written and verbal assignments; these consist of four essays (upper word limit 1500), an audio tape (assessing induction, deepening and closing techniques), and a classroom demonstration.
Course Materials
In addition to a required reading list (see below), handouts, audio CD’s and DVD’s will be provided. The handouts will gradually compile a comprehensive manual / portfolio of the course contents.

Course Cost (Mersyside venue only) - £690.00
Payment method 1 – Full payment before the course commencement date. This method is rewarded with a £50.00 discount; therefore cost = £620.00.
Payment method 2 - £190.00 deposit (payable before the course commencement date), followed by 5 monthly installments of £100.00. Note: no penalty (i.e. interest) is incurred for this method of payment.

Accreditation, Qualification and Graduation.
The course has been validated and accredited by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Coucil. Upon graduation, you will be presented with a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and entitled to use the letters Dip.(ClnHyp) after your name.
As a graduate you will be endowed with an eclectic mix of psychological knowledge that will enable you to take an integrative and versatile approach to the treatment of a wide range of disorders; these include:

On completion of the course, you will be eligible for professional registration with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) at full practitioner status, together with the acquisition of the industry-based award The General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP).
